Description
In the short story collection “Boond-Boond Zindagi”, an attempt has been made to capture the vivid events present in our surroundings through nearly seventy short-short stories (laghukathas). Some of these may qualify strictly as laghukathas, while others may lean more towards short stories. I believe that in everyday life, short-short stories exist all around us they are what we live.
This collection attempts to reflect the rapidly changing social values of contemporary society, challenge the impact of hollow ideologies, question the complexities of outdated traditions, and strike at the roots of insensitivity all while trying to uphold a sense of positivity.
Certain questions have always echoed in my mind the stories like “Shikayat” (Complaint), “Kabr Ki Vasna” (The Desire of the Grave), “Virakt Kokh” (Detached Womb), and “Anuttarit” (Unanswered) are mere expressions of those thoughts. On the other hand, stories like “Khushiyon Ki Muthhi” (A Fistful of Joy), “Neeli Aankhen” (Blue Eyes), “Bhagwan Hona Aasaan Hai” (It’s Easy to Be God), and “Beti Ka Maan” (The Daughter’s Dignity) these are, in a way, my own stories.
Some stories are theme-driven, written while practicing for various platforms, while others are simply part of my journey of learning calling them mere attempts would not be an exaggeration.
